Feature Length Documentary

"EMBODIED" is a feature length documentary made with Vox Creative and Novo Nordisk that examines the stories of five individuals as they combat weight stigma in a world that fears fatness. The film follows a drag queen using humor to unravel discomfort around their weight and queerness; a mermaid reconciling with fatphobia inherited from her mother; a midwife working to dismantle fat bias in reproductive health; a former linebacker navigating the unclear relationship between health and size; and a CEO creating space and community for the millions of Americans with fat bodies. "EMBODIED" offers a personal lens into a sensationalized and intersectional issue – the relentless internal and external weight bias that many suffer in silence.

I am driven by the conviction that every individual deserves to be treated with dignity, and their unique narrative should be showcased with utmost intelligence. The prevalent discourse on weight bias is riddled with inaccuracies, and these inaccuracies have far-reaching consequences that extend beyond just those of size. For me, this project represents an opportunity — an open door to crafting a future that is not only more empathetic but also more accurate and just.

To bring increased awareness and understanding to financial abuse, an often invisible form of domestic violence, The Allstate Foundation has teamed up with Hello Sunshine and Vox Creative to create a voice-amplifying creative platform that tells the stories of real women. The platform is dedicated to supporting female-identifying financial abuse survivors in their financial pursuits, through the lens of collective success. Through storytelling, thoughtful information, and resources, the hub will help survivors navigate the many factors that contribute to a survival journey, including financial independence.

In crafting this project, I aimed for an educational and emotionally impactful piece that seamlessly integrates intelligence with creativity, avoiding any potential harm or dilution of the core issue. Inspired by the fluidity of watercolor movements, our artwork vividly captures the peaks and valleys of financial abuse. The unique style employs color to convey emotion while preserving anonymity. The result is a concise yet powerful blend of education and aesthetics.

In this photo series spanning across Eater, Curbed, and New York magazine networks, Vox Creative and SKYY Vodka delve into the stories of three Northern California locals and their unique relationships with the holidays. Through interviews, we'll uncover how each individual plans to spend this special time of the year, infusing laidback Cali vibes into their family traditions. This one with Juanita MORE! was an iconic prize amongst the pack.

Juanita MORE! epitomizes drag royalty. As the crowned Empress of the Imperial Court of San Francisco, an institution boasting over 50 years of history and LGBTQ+ advocacy, her influence resonates deeply. Juanita has been instrumental in supporting organizations such as the SF Bay Area Queer Nightlife Fund, LGBT Asylum Project, and Our Trans Youth. As a creative director, it was paramount for me to ensure that her home and her essence shone brightly in this photo shoot.

In homage to the charming "meet cute" and our beloved rom-com tropes, Vox Creative in partnership with Cointreau, the iconic orange liqueur, to craft a love story of our own. Featuring comedian Simone Norman and mixologist Greg Titian, our endearing tale unfolds in an apartment hallway amidst a spilled bag of groceries and a margarita. Filmed at the Refinery Hotel, we've also included below the recipe (courtesy of Cointreau) for the margarita savored by Titian and Norman during their delightful encounter.

As it evolved into a Vulture-brand endeavor, the entertainment layer infused our recipes with a distinct point-of-view: cocktail recipes seen through the lens of a romantic comedy. In the ever-evolving landscape of the plus-size market, we witness a fertile ground for extraordinary collaborations that hold the power to revolutionize the very essence and purpose of the fashion industry.

After an intricate journey spanning nearly two years, ELOQUII, a prominent plus-size retailer, joined forces with Refinery29, a global media company dedicated to women, to unveil a groundbreaking creation: The Weekender — a fusion of scrupulous quantitative and qualitative data analysis, alluring heat maps, immersive focus group sessions, and unyielding cycles of fabric testing and re-testing.

Beyond fashion, it impacts respect and opportunities in life. My project aimed to empower plus-size women, fostering a world where everyone is seen, respected, and given equal chances.

This is an interactive hub page honoring our hair: its length, texture, moments we loved it, times we hated it. In this custom program, we combined written love letters, videos, parallax UI, and shoppable product moments to tell four different hair stories.
